Description
Using a small amount of hydrogen, NPH removes oxygen from lower purity nitrogen produced by an on-site generator to achieve a purity of 99.999% to 99.9999%. Having a generator that produces low-purity nitrogen instead of high-purity nitrogen requires 40% less feed air. This translates into significant compressor energy savings and reduced potential emissions. Operating with NPH is less taxing on the electrical system than a generator solely producing high-purity N2, offering relief to facilities with power supply constraints. Adding NPH to an existing nitrogen gas production system will increase or even double the facility’s N2 production capacity.
